How To Care for Your Swimwear

Our designer swimwear is sustainable, eco-friendly, and most importantly, made with LOVE. Our supreme high quality swimwear can last for a lifetime if properly cared for. Here are our tips below to care for your new Ocean Babe Swim:

Rinse ASAP
Be sure to wash your swimwear after each use, even if you did not swim in it. The less time oil has to set in, the better. Sunscreens and oils can contain damaging ingredients that can eventually lead to the breakdown of fabric. Overtime, mineral-based lotions and oil formulations can cause yellowing or gradual stains if swimsuits are not washed well. Keep in mind that chlorine is harsher on swimsuits than fresh and salt water and can leave bright colors susceptible to fading or discoloration.

Hand Wash
DO NOT PUT IN WASHER MACHINE!Ā Wash your swimsuit by hand only. Itā€™s highly recommended to use a detergent that is specially designed for sensitive or delicate fabrics. These special detergents will safely remove oils and chemicals without damaging ļ¬ne ļ¬bers. A standard laundry detergent may be too harsh.Ā

Do Not Wring
Resist the urge to wring out every last drop of water. Wringing your suit can damage the ļ¬bers, eventually compromising the shape and can negatively affect the pattern and coloring. Instead, itā€™s best to gently remove excess water with a tight squeeze and lay your suit ļ¬‚at.

Avoid HeatĀ
When done, lay your swimsuit ļ¬‚at to dry in the shade. Avoid drying your swimwear directly in the sunlight as this can fade the color and direct heat can weaken the elasticity of the spandex. Never use a dryer; dryers can cause irreversible damage to your swimsuit.

Sit On A Towel
Sitting on rough surfaces can snag and tear the smooth and luxurious texture of your swimsuit. Always lay down a towel before you sit on rough surfaces.

Ā Remember, the way you care for your swimsuits has a huge impact on how long they will last. After all, one of the most important aspects of fashion is keeping all those precious pieces looking clean and well-maintained. By following these simple tips, you can maximize the longevity of your swimwear and truly master timeless fashion.
